Hilton Head Island might have more cyclists than drivers. We have so many, in fact, that on the island there is only a small handful of places where someone on a bike has the right of way to a car! Otherwise traffic would back up for miles! It’s quite nice, seeing so many people biking. And how could they not! Aside from twelve miles of beach there is a whopping 80 miles of trails on the island for your cycling pleasure! Didn’t bring you bike? Couldn’t fit it in the backseat with all your kids? No worries. For your youngins try renting them an alley cat. An alley cat is a regular adult bike with an extra wheel, pedals, and handle bars attached to the back. This allows for your little one to bike with you, and even if he doesn’t pedal he’ll still trail along with you (but don’t worry we won’t mention that to him). Or you can rent a Kiddie Kart. A kiddie kart is just like it sounds a cart for the kids! A screened in cart attaches to a regular adult bike allowing you to put your kids in tow, or just carry beach supplies!
